Has the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” been stuck on repeat in your head? Have your eyes been drifting wistfully to that pair of flaming red platform boots tucked in the back of your closet? Have the words paisley and polyester been unexpectedly cropping up in conversation? Has all this got you wondering why exactly your brain seems to have been transported back in time to 1978?
It’s Halloween, right? All this talk of costumes has you thinking disco. Wait, that’s the word, disco. Of course! It’s Disco Gala time!
The 15th Annual Disco Gala, hosted by the Collins Center, happening November 7th from 6:30 to 11:00 at Beyond Restaurant and Lounge, is sure to be a blast. Tickets include an all-you-can-eat buffet and an open bar, the chance to bid on a wide variety of goods and services donated by local merchants and businesses at both a silent and live auction, and lots of disco and dancing!
Guests are encouraged to come fancy or funky, so dress in your best or in your best disco-era duds. It’s a treat, to watch a gentleman decked out in suit and tie chat amiably with an acquaintance sporting leather pants, a dazzlingly-patterned shirt with the top four buttons open, reflective shades and, for good measure, plenty of gold jewelery.
All proceeds from the event go directly to the Collins Center, supporting the important work they perform in advocating for victims of sexual assault and abuse. There’s no better reason to party than to party for a good cause, and the Disco Gala provides the best of both. Get your tickets today!
