Hey y’all. Aim here, and we just want to remind you that there’s tons to do in our area this weekend. JMU has a home football game (Go DUKES!!), and there’s a whole slew of festivals to attend. This includes a festival that has two of my favorite fall foods…
2) and Beer
Not a fan of chili and/or beer? No worries there! There’s a ton of other festivals in the Valley this weekend. Here’s our list:
Bridgewater Home Auxiliary Fall Festival – Harrisonburg, September 21, 2013
Apple Butter Celebration in Shenandoah National Park – Luray, September 21, 2013
Virginia Chili, Blues n’ Brews Festival – Waynesboro, September 21, 2013
African American Heritage Festival – Staunton, September 21-22, 2013
Good Tastes, Time, and Tradition – Staunton, September 21-22, 2013
I personally will be attending the Virginia Chili, Blues n’ Brews Festival. So this festival, it’s in Waynesboro and costs $15 to get in. What a deal! Dan, the man behind the new View of the Valley posts, is the reigning People’s Champ of the festival’s chili cook-off. So apparently, in addition to taking pictures, he can cook too.
And Derik’s going to the JMU football game, so that’s exciting. Jeremy? He might be going out-of-town. Too bad, right? He’s going to missing out on a lot of local fun!
However you spend the weekend, enjoy it. Let us know if you go to any of the festivals too. We’d love to hear what you thought of them!!! Stay tuned for another post from us later in the week. 🙂
